(Only five of about 30 pictures, but even I can predict boredom with this motif!)

Our little building was a church in it's former life- actually built a Luthern/Episcopal shared space but turning into a Buddist Temple in later years. It was condoized and I loved the huge old church windows- not stained glass, but big round paned windows on all sides. Well, the people who live upstairs and have these windows are getting leakage and water damage and breezes through their places, so we are getting the building re-pointed and the windows scraped and painted before there is serious damage. Oh no, I am not pissed that I only have four dinky windows in my whole place. Oh no... not me! BUT that aside, there is a huge lift parked in the driveway so the painters can reach these windows- they are on the third and fourth floors of the building. And the lift has some evidence of use and abuse- see above photos taken yesterday morning before it went into use.

What is it about the rust and dents that so attacts me? I have closeups of about 10 dumpsters already, and now this lift. I have always loved good graffiti, so perhaps I see this as an extention of graffiti? I dunno. Whatevah, as they say in Boston. Today I am going to whip this damn old printer back into shape and see how many I can print to *do* something with. I am promising that it will not be the same format as the many collages already finished, maybe bigger and not mounted on canvas this time, we'll see.

It's that or go shopping at the new Natick 'maul', but I am putting that off as long as possible so the new Neiman Marcus will be ready to receive my dollars.
