Now, the average age of the concert goers is hovering around 90 for this series. (Which reminds me that today would have been my dad's 90th birthday. He hated concerts and movies equally!)) I told TY how much I like going in the daytime because it takes all the pressure off when to eat or getting into restaurants at prime times, so it's my own fault. When we pull out of our parking space we can hear crashes all up and down the ramps as the old folks back out and bang into those fortunate enough to already be in line to get out. And every one of these fender benders is accompanied by an old lady getting out of the Bentley passenger seat holding her neck and an angry old man wearing white shoes and heavy gold necklaces.
But I digress. the dates for this series are all over the map- some concerts are Tuesday, some Saturday, and LUCKILY ENUF, we find that we are scheduled to go today. TY is off on a golf match to the death, won't be home in time because the match includes much Guinness and betting on tonight's football game (which you may or may not have heard about) SO, he sez to me, he sez: "You have to find someone to take the tickets or find someone to go with." Uhhh, huh? Everyone we know is bound up in pre-game festivities so this mythical person who will go with me does not exist. I have the tickets in my purse- if you want them I would be happy to drive them down to the Kravis Center and give them to you. But wait- there is MORE good news- today's concert is by The Mexican National Orchestra, which is not known for it's strolling guitar players. Bet that is a big draw for the old folks.
Want me to meet you? Call before 2 PM. Damn. The only thing Mexican I would like right now comes from aguave.
