I could just squeeze this kid in her striped jammies- this is her 1 month portrait.
Just got the photos posted on the last entry so go look at them if you want to weep.
The good news is that there wasn't much wrong with the printer after I got another new yellow cartridge (FOURTH one!) and installed it. The ink light stopped blinking finally and I was able to print but still have the damn neon lines even after running the head cleaning tools. But at least I can print a boarding pass or a knitting pattern again. Photography is beyond the printer, and forget re-doing the bleeding circles, though I will give it a shot when I have time. I am sitting here killing a few minutes until my son and his GF arrive for the weekend. Shishkebob is on the skewers, pilaf is ready to roll, and the chopped Armenian salad is in the refrigerator. Dessert is black bottom cupcakes, at least they are MY favorite so my life isn't quite the empty void I portray. Just my art life is in the toilet.
But I did have one little triumph- I stopped into Great Balls of Yarn and was fondling the Koigu when I noticed some ladies finishing up a class making these adorable little purses with rows of beads knitted in. I ggot the pattern and some size #2 needles (like knitting with bobby pins) and found beads that perfectly matched the colors in the yarn. I didn't realize this was a mistake because they just don't show enough unless the light is hitting them. luckily I bought two more tubes of beads so I can make another one. I followed the written directions to the letter but the ladies in the shop had bags that were twice the size of mine- I think they used bigger needles, dammit. Anyway, it's very cute and was a 2 day project for the obsessed. I promise to take longer on the next one.
A few months ago an old friend stopped by to see my new kitchen, She immediately spied these open shelves way up at the ceiling that I use to display my McCoy collection. She went home and came back last week and left me a present under the palm tree- this fabulous pleated design pitcher in the center.
Guess I will go eat the bottom off one of the cupcakes before anyone catches me. Nate lands in 4 minutes, hope he can find the house since we painted it tomato soup color and put a strange car in the driveway. Oh well, more shish for me.
