Back in 1991 I had a (very) young woman in one of my dining room classes who was from Norway. She was a good craftswoman and caught on very quickly, which I understood immediately when I saw her amazing hand knit sweaters- she was always knitting on of those gorgeous Norwegian design sweaters for her kids, for her husband, for anyone. He was apparently in the states for some advanced degree study- MIT is full of 'em, and the wives have to make a life too so she was learning to quilt. I think they all went home the following year, but I did see her a bit later when she was back in the states visiting for a short time. Today I got a packet in the mail from Norway (huh???) and she sent me a magazine that she had written an article in about the NEQM- and she has illustrated it with a quilt of mine!
SEVENTEEN FRIGGIN YEARS LATER!
V- this is 'Norsk Quilteblad', the NR 1/2008 edition for 21. Argang. Norsk Quilteforbunds Medlemsblad.
Here's what she says about me (I know it's about me because it says 'Sandy' in it) Jeg gikk pa hos Sandy i 1992, motte henne igjen i fjor og skulle gjerne tatt et nytt kurs!
god, I had fun typing that. Go out and buy your own copy now. And this explains the mysterious visitors from Norway popping up on the blog.
