wink wink
This is what Mac wants me to do to my eyes this season. Comfy, huh? Stay back or I'll SPIKE ya. And forget glasses- every time I blink I would knock them off.
Yesterday I drove to the beach. left the house at 3 to be there at 4, but the traffic was horrendous, so I punched in alternative routes into the sleeping TomTom. He told me to 'take the right, stay left, take the highway' onto 95S. This didn't seem right to me, but Tom can see from his vantage point in the sky and He knows all. I ended up on 495 headed right for the Cape. Seems Tom liked the Cape better than Nantasket, and had relocated Nantasket Beach right at the Bourne Bridge. I finally got off, headed back north but had to go all the way back to 128 before I could then turn completely around again and hug the coast back down. I arrived at 5:30 and felt like a blinkin' fool. I have been making this trip for 38 years now.
Fortunately for me there was a big tall gin and tonic waiting for me and it went quite well with the plate of pesto biscotti I made that morning to take. Next time I will make the log smaller and add more glue- they were a bit too crumbly with the small amount of corn meal in them, but they were awfully good and just different enough to nibble with a drink on a hot night.
The green cookies look so pretty against the blue pan liner.
As opposed to a pan-ty liner.
Let's see, yesterday I also finished the first strip of Lizard Ridge- oh, you think you saw thie before? Nah, I ripped that whole batch of squares up and started over again. The directions call for making 24 squares but I think I know more than they do, as usual, so instead I am making 4 long strips of 6 squares each- seems to me I end up with the same thing and a lot fewer seams to sew up. So here's strip #1:
#2 is halfway finished already but my fat fingers need a rest today.
And finally my other project is taking shape- the Jellyfish costumes. I *think* I finished the purple one, probably will back a few of the strips with some of my vast collection of ignored and overlooked iridescent fabrics, but if I don't get at it this is fine. And when the initial impact is over, I rip the bubblewrap off and still have a purple plastic umbrella. Ummm, how much you wanna bet that this umbrella will prove to be un-loseable! I have left many others from one corner of the country to another! In fact when this one arrived it was so dusty I had to give it a shower and wipe it down- looks like I will be getting a favor from the manufacturer soon for taking it off his hands. But I digress from the Jellyfish, Herself!
So, there ya go. When someone shows up here I will get a picture of the whole thing with a real body in it, meanwhile you get the propped up version.
