Jellyfish Landing

Finished!  This was a bedspread I made out of a watercolor Tibetan cloud design painted on raw silk.  It really was much too heavy on the bed so I finally got the nerve to cut it up into this jacket.  The detail is a welt pocket but I was kind of proud of getting the stiff thick fabric to tame down.  The jacket itself is pinned awkwardly to the design wall, so the collar looks wonky but it's not.  The whole thing is pieced to match the pattern across the sides and back so the front, which will most often be open, doesn't match up.  Trust me, I  was channeling *Geneva on this one and did over a few things until it would even meet her specifications!

Received the two jellyfish costumes in good order, now to get to Home Depot for a hundred yards of bubblewrap!  The umbrellas are fab-  one is purple (not my favorite color, certainly not for umbrellas!), the other clear.  Both are huge bubble umbrellas, the clear one is actually a bubble GOLF umbrella-  who knew such things existed?  Oh.  Then why didn't you tell me?

* Geneva was my mom, a perfectionist in her sewing and her expectations!

And one last little thing, sending up a thought to the universe- this is the house I want. Hallo? Anybody hear me?
(I took this through the car window and you can see Molly reflected, nice touch!  NOW can you hear me?)
