The Vortex Creates, The Chaos Profligates.

This was Lisa's idea- I added this bookshelf and it seemed a better display piece than even more storage so I am showcasing my Artists Books. Today I attached the fabric backing- it may look a little circus-y but trust me, the place needs it.

Here are the pin strips at 6' high. I had these collages in a box so added them on the wall to get them out of the way- there isn't an 'arrangement' yet. And Lisa- here is the second pillow for the chair- now it is sit-able.

My 'used' cutting mats- see the gray areas where they mats have groves cut through? Doesn't bother me a bit, I can cut crosswise too! These are perfect times seven! Thanks Liza!

I installed the paper and bamboo shades on two of the shelves and when I pull them down it's amazing how calming it is- once the visual clutter is out of sight, the place suddenly becomes serene! Check the above photo with the below photo to see the difference in the two sections---

I don't know that I will keep them down while I am working- it would be somewhat of a pain, but definitely I will pull them for the open studios and classes. Too distracting! (Note I put up my little black squares from the QBL workshop? Since it was a little series about my move and my mojo, I thought it appropriate.

Got the printer and the scanner installed in their little out of the way corner.

And here is my bee-utiful sink, in place but not hooked up yet. I am thinking it need a skirt and some ruby slippers...

So, that's what I did today. Tomorrow is my last day before I am gone for a few days and I have to do some cleaning up, but for the time being, at least until I do something very different, this is the end of the steady stream of studio pictures. Oh, except for when the dog bed comes! Don't know when that will be.

I did write myself a new statement- does this seem to capture my work?

Work of Proto-Art in the Age of Symbiotic Reproduction

The vortex creates, the chaos profligates. In the synaptic reality, art objects are resurrections of the musings of the vortex -- a vortex that uses the chaos as a zeitgeist to enmesh ideas, patterns, and emotions. With the rationalization of the electronic environment, the vortex is superseding a point where it will be free from the chaos to transcend immersions into the contortions of the delphic reality. Work of Proto-Art in the Age of Symbiotic Reproduction contains 10 minimal java engines (also refered to as "memes") that enable the user to make trying audio/visual compositions.

measuring chains, constructing realities
putting into place forms
a matrix of illusion and disillusion
a strange attracting force
so that a seduced reality will be able to spontaneously feed on it

Sandra Townsend Donabed's work investigates the nuances of modulations through the use of stopframe motion and close-ups which emphasize the Symbiotic nature of digital media. Townsend Donabed explores abstract and greenish scenery as motifs to describe the idea of cyber-intuitive reality. Using crusty loops, vectors, and allegorical images as patterns, TownsendDonabed creates meditative environments which suggest the expansion of culture...
(With thanks to Market-O-Matic, the Fine Arts Version and Mary Beth Frezon! I had forgotten about this *valuable resource*.)

("The vortex creates, the chaos profligates." This just kills me LOL)
