The Dawg
Seems like I have been asked to fix up one of these fiberglass dawgs for a fundraiser next spring. This one is actual size and sort of a pointer/lab-ish thing. I have seventy-teen ideas on what I CAN do, but overnight it will probably all boil down to something simple and doable and not sticky. We'll see. meanwhile the forms don't arrive until November so I have plenty of time to collect stuff...and ideas. If you stop me on the street I will try to pick your brain. It should be fun, but I have to be realistic on how much time I can devote to something I probably wouldn't be able to
buy!
Today wasn't too much of a pain with the Swamp Thang- only broke one needle, unfortunately my last metallica so I have to go shopping tomorrow for more. So instead of worrying on that I started playing with one of my bridge images- I think this was over the Hudson on the Thruway because that's where I started taking bridge pictures, and this is an old one. So I blew it up to 30" x 40" (and cut off some of the bottom), and I think that I need to do something else to it. Jasper Johns would approve.*
("Do something, then do something to that, and then do something to that...!")
(the messed-with image, very small, salvaged from some old files that didn't even have names.)
(the gigantic blow-up showing all the pixels big as your thumb.) untrimmed and unattached
I've 'done' something with this one image about twenty times now because I simply love it. Might have one more shot. So that will go to bed until tomorrow.
Tonight we hit the restaurant called 'Leftovers' for fish and beers with some friends, tomorrow I get to see if my numbers are OK with the endocrinologist (so the plural beers might be exaggeration!). Then it's smooth sailing for awhile as I finish up all my started-not-finished stuff. And oh yeah, I have to figure out how to get the overspray of the 'temporary' adhesive off of everything in the studio! Today I couldn't even use my pins! Plus I am sticking to the floor. Time to de-goo.
