Days later I found it- yeah, right on my computer desk in front of my nose. I had used it to look up one of my classmates who appeared on Facebook months ago. And something overtook me- the scanner was right there- I could scan it and email it to her! Scan away, 20 pages later (and this scanner is a little workhorse of over 10 year old, but is somewhat...s...l...o...w... in it's perseverance. And this is what I got 20 of:
Can you pick me out? I'll give you a hint- I'm not wearing a jacket and tie. Above me is my best friend for years, Carolyn, and below me is Scott, a friend from elementary school that died of melanoma last spring shortly after we all got reacquainted on Facebook. I don't remember any of the guys on this page other than Scott, but I certainly do remember all the girls.
One of my friends said I look like I'm right out of 'Grease'- I told her I didn't make it in the stretch pants! Then I had another bright idea, and that was to simply post the pages in an album and send the link to Facebook where anyone else who is without their book would have access to it too. (RIGHT HERE for you voyeurs!) And so I did the whole thing from my chair here- no trip to the copy shop, no trip to the PO, not trip to Office Depot to find an envelope, plus it's available for everybody. Done.

**We are having it on the 49th year rather than the 50th because so many people are already dead! Someone figured we better get at it post haste so it's scheduled for summer 2011 and we are shariing it with the class behind us for lack of any commitment on either class' part. How's that for spirit?

Well, that looks exactly like a page from my HS yearbook! Isn't that Ricky Kirkham up in the corner? And Denny Madsen down below? I am younger than you, however. Class of '64. We had a 45 yr. reunion last year and they had a looped slide show running up on one wall of everyone who had died. So depressing. Every time a new face would pop up we'd all go, "Oh maaaannn--what happened to her/him?"
What's so amazing to me about those pictures is how everyone looks like they already have corporate jobs. They had the clothes, the accessories (some had the chic eyeglasses!) - they look young but not kid-young, more like the class of new young executives/partners.
