I Feel Bettah, ever so slightly bettah-

because I stopped at the Mac store and bought the new MacPro 15" laptop I've been visiting all summer.  I had started out to get my glasses prescription filled and took a long time trying to find glasses that are at least as cool as the ones I've been wearing for 2 years, but they don't exist.  I got a sub-standard pair that no one is going to notice, sob, but I am ready to move on.  They will be ready in a week or so, and I then had to pass the Mac store on my way back out.   My personal Genius was waiting by the door for me...  I am such a sucker.

I am loving the bigger screen and fast response-  guess I was so used to everything taking forever that I forgot what it feels like to have something that works.  SO, last night I synced the old laptop to the new one wirelessly through the AirPort and, though it tied up both machines for something like 11 hours, it did a stellar job.  My firewire is in Florida and I am too cheap to buy another one. Today I am pulling my old images from the poor defunct desktop to put on CDs to move them and archive them-  and I am vowing to keep these files cleaned out this time around.  But there have been some challenges-  seems that having used at least 5 different cameras over recent years, that much of my file naming is way too convoluted so I've been trying to attack that as I go.  Just as I think I have a workable system I get foiled but that should be the worst of it, right?

I'm having fun with this, the librarian in me loves to organize but only occasionally.  Tomorrow I have a dentist appointment and I am actually LOOKING FORWARD to it.  Sunshine, Rainbows, Tulips-  you know, that kind of feeling.  Today I got TY into the shower, a dangerous and tricky maneuver, but the whole house suddenly smells better.  Yesterday I pulled down all the crystal golf trophies off the high shelves and washed them and the den now is sparkly again.  So, there are some good things coming from my incarceration.  Gotta hold that thought.
