You are quite gregarious, (hahahahaha) yet your outgoing style today can be a smokescreen to hide feelings that you would prefer to keep to yourself. However, there's no need to pretend. You don't have to share anything about yourself that doesn't feel right. It's okay to state your limits and then stick with the boundaries that you set.
OK, get up off the floor and maybe someday I WILL set some limits and boundaries! Hmmm, guess I should go look up what those two foreign words mean since I have never used 'em. As you well know.
The great news is that my wandering son and GF landed in the Chesky Krumkov and their room had wifi so I got not one but TWO emails from them. Nate has absorbed my interest in all things absurd and ironic so they are hitting the weirdest places of interest- next time I go to Europe I'm using his guidebooks. Seems that they read my blog and because of the stuffed squirrel post they sent me off a zip file of images they took at the Bavarian Hunting and Fishing Museum (Deutsches Jagd- und Fischereimuseum back in Munich. Harmless you say? Nope. It was full of taxidermy freak animals and 'experiments' in chimera taxidermy (ie the squirrel with wings). But these offerings were much bigger, much more involved, much ickier than a simple squirrel. They all had 'blood' and little added fangs or some unimaginable oddity to them. And here I sit with all these pictures! This one is tame. Sorry if you're offended but it harkens back to my pet-rabbit, visiting-cat experience of long ago. Which, as you know from the boundary speech above I will happily tell you all about someday.
Next I get a video of a creepy dungeon place with glass cases set into the rocks and barely lit, with Nate's voice over describing the current museum in the Czech Republic where they were- The Museum of Torture. So I went looking for a link and found pages of Museums of Torture, seems every city in Europe has at least one! I stopped investigating. Don't want any addresses, thank yew very much. Lets just say that the video he made ended with Jackie's face popping up with a flashlight under her chin. I jumped out of my seat! But they were in Cesky Krumlov and decided to stay an extra day because it was such an interesting town. Otherwise.
Today I am off to visit the Depots, the Home one and the Office one. I am in need of a few specialty items for our encaustic workshop on Wednesday. After that it's back to the studio to add some side borders to the bridge piece, and remove and re sew the bottom one that somehow went wonky even after my uber-careful measuring. Then the top will be done. yesterday I re sewed several parts that had been bothering me, and clipped threads so I could actually see what was happening. I made some corretions and still have a few lines to add at some point. But it's on the road home. What in hell will I use for a backing though... UGH.
I've been sticking a few prints into my Sketchbook Project as I think of it. My theme is 'in flight' so I have about mined my depths for those pictures and now I need to augment with some actual art work. I'm also using other prints for another book I'm filling with inkjets, but I need more images and (see above) more inks to continue. My printer completely stops if one tank is down- hate that. My old printer would just make substitutes with any old colors and I got some quite amazing prints that way. And it worked until ALL the colors were gone, bless it's heart.
Lacey McCurtain is being ignored this week, too much else to be working on. Occasionally as I walk by her I slap another hunk of lace here or there but that's it for now, and she's not complaining and jumping on me continually like the Other Studio Dog.
So, off I go to the Depots. It takes me forever to get through both of them because I have to see Everything. I'm taking lunch with me just in case.

I love encaustic but can't stand the smell of beeswax, so that is the end of that. Bummer.
Doesn't look promising for this winter unless I go down myself for a couple of days - but it isn't looking good. Will let you know if this changes.
