Sunday Hunting and Pecking

At 7 AM we were at the Lebanese breakfast place this morning- someone has cleaned it up a bit, and they still have the best breakfasts around. We haven't gone there much since we have found the 2 other breakfast joints that allow dogs at the outside tables. Molly does enjoy her restaurant breakfasts. We were home by 7:45, had the car loaded up with it's windshield wiper fluid by 7:50 once we figured out how to open the damn hood! Now I don't have to drive around with that huge bottle o' blue stuff sloshing around in the back seat. Victory. Only took three weeks to get that done. We don't react very quickly around here.

So today I had to sync the iPhone and found these pictures I forgot. Now the damn thing is updating it's system and I can't leave the house until it's done so I'll post here for a few minutes before I hit the studio and get back to the alphabet book AND (tadah) would you believe another UFO piece? This time I am encasing it in wax for future generations to ponder. I found that the laser printer works beautifully on some drawing vellum that I just got. The image rubs right off onto the wax so I can now do transfers so much more easily. Laurie has a pack of bakery paper that I will eventually invest in, but for now I am thrilled that the vellum works- seems to have a good enough coating that it releases the inks quickly. So, now, I am using the pilfered UFO plans I was going to use on another quilt piece, then I can possibly use them again on a quilt someday if I am still interested. For now the encaustic project is enough. But, back to the iPhone pictures:

The Day-Late,Dollar Short Gratuitous Turkey Shot

And a couple of more turkeys. I would have cropped this better, but then you wouldn't see my stuffing baked inside the pumpkin. Yup, that's the famous TY telling the photographer between his teeth to hurry it up so he can tuck into foodstuffs.

Another thing checked off the todo list! This is Euroflax Linen that I bought in Santa Fe and finally knit up into a reversible shawl- idle hands are tools of the debil, ya know. Once I washed and blocked it it became much softer and I think it will only continue to soften in time, so much for minimal warmth AND exfoliation in one. Crappy iPhone picture, it's actually a lovely bright gold color, guaranteed to go with ... nothing. That Yellow Cunundrum shows up in clothes as well as quilts. Oh well, I'll haul it around for when I sit under the AC vents.

Beatles Mice, you have to go to the House of Mouse , an Etsy shop run by a gal in the Netherlands with infinite patience for detail. Don't miss the complete cast of Star Wars. Amazing.

Sync almost done, I am OUT of here! Happy Sunday, all!

Hah,,,you reminded me of when the Gramma said (as she did twice a day) "Idle Hands are the Devil's Playground!" and I said "Find my sneakers, I'm PLAYIN'!" that was good for a smack.
