Oddities

I'm having a terrible time understanding this but I had a big spike in blog visitors last week so I went to investigate why. Why? because I don't have comments. One would think if people are visiting they wouldn't just peek in the window, they would knock on the door, or even crack it slightly and yell Yooooo-hooooo! Instead it's more like you all are sitting in a dark car across the street peering at me waiting for me to leave. I don't get it.

Meanwhile with Nate and Jackie here it seems like I am getting very little done except enjoying having them here. Nate was a big help fixing my image to send off for the Rochester show- my camera kept spitting out images at 72 dpi and I needed 300. I fiddled and fuddled around with the image and got it to where I thought it should be, but didn't make it. Nate sat down at the computer and was quite dismissive of my Elements instead of having full-blown PS installed, but he did find everything he needed to send off a big image as needed. I was trying to absorb what he did, but he is lightening fast since he does it for a living so didn't learn a thing. Oh well, I need images like that so infrequently I guess it doesn't matter. Much.

He also put together a teak bench I had ordered for the horse-stall shower, and installed TY's printer that has been cluttering up the floor. My god, it sounds like we are a couple of old people sitting in confusion and squalor. We also got the menus from the wedding place and fully discussed eight pages of offerings, all of which *I* liked from the roast suckling piggy on down. But I do feel kinda bad rhapsodizing over the pig option to a vegetarian future DIL! I gotta pull back or I wob't be allowed in on these plans!

Yesterday evening we went to play bocce after having a time finding the balls to use. Even Molly went and was very excited until we had to tie her to a bench because of over-enthusiasm for the sand pit.
We had stopped at the brewery for some growlers and headed to the court much against my will, but I was being a good old woman and going along for the ride. Well, who knew...

Bocce was absolutely fun and (ahem) I turned out to be pretty good first time out. Maybe it was the beer, maybe (another ahem) just my innate skills. But for once I wasn't 'the goat'. I sit here now awaiting challenges, with visions of me in an Olympic Bocce outfit carrying the flag around the stadium... to trumpet music. And oh, is that Hitler in the stands saluting our prowess? Damn, I shoulda worn the prescription sunglasses.

Here is something to buy with the big winnings:
Need a new cutting board for those pesky hunks of meat? Why just today I was tenderizing some conch and needed to pound it to submission- wish I would have had this Husband Cutting Board to work on. Available at the Neatorama shop along with other necessities like personalized bobble heads and nerd tee shirts.

BTW, the conch chowder was pretty good but not nearly spicy enough. Thankfully that was easily remedied
This is a Hair Museum in Avanos Turkey. Yup, women have visited and left this guy locks of their hair and their full addresses which he hangs in a cave. Creepy? Yup. As much as I want to go to Turkey, and as much as I enjoy weird stuff to the max, I think I will be avoiding Avanos.

Last thought, my finished quilt:
And it is now officially put to bed. So, I close off Blogger an go about my bizniz poking about the net, and here is the Horror of the Day- Looks like I am again right on target:

Love the quilt! Wish I could look inside your head when I see these things you create.

If your camera is taking higher rez photos I recall a preference or setting in elements to leave the resolution as-is when opening. Good luck with your entry. My photos weren't the best I've taken lately but I did email them off anyway. I noticed they seemed larger in file size in the email that PS said they were. Who knows.

Love the new piece!

Ps I was sure you'd have the same scary screen shot that's on my site today. I'm disappointed lol.
