Welcome Guests

The sun, a convertible, the Keys...a good day

"COMPANIEEEEE" she said with enthusiasm for a change. This company is here for the (Sandy-imposed) 3 day limit, and I am happy happy to see them- it's the Nate and Jackie Show! They arrived yesterday after a visit to Key West looking for a wedding site. Looks like they had some good luck in that department, but we will sniff around here to see what else is available closer to airports and motels. But Key West is right for them, so I hope I don't distract them with other ideas. Coming from my current emotionally overwrought bunch of collected family, Jackie is a breath of fresh calm air, a little lake at sunset, rather than the ocean just before a hurricane like the rest of 'em. It is so much fun to watch the two of them making their plans. So, today the 'little lake' will go swim some laps and I will make a batch of conch chowder while the 2 turbulent oceans collide over screwing 4 legs onto a bench for my shower. That's after I open the box, lay out the contents, find the proper tools, and read them the instructions which they won't pay any attention to. Oy. I know I will end up doing it, there is no such thing as a manly bonding over tools in this family- *I* am the one with the tools and when they come out, the house empties in seconds, faster than screaming 'FIRE!!!!'. (I admit I have used this to my advantage over the years.)

The Moon's current visit to your sign is emotionally intense, as your moods swing wildly like a pendulum out of control. However, you can continue to make steady progress by observing your feelings without necessarily saying anything about them at all. It isn't always easy to let the wisdom of your body react naturally, without an audience. Keep your feelings to yourself until things settle down in a day or two.

My phone went charge-less for two days, tried three different cords and none worked, so I hiked into the store and ended up with a newer model. Other than being out a couple of hundred dollars, and the new one having more squared off edges, I can't tell the difference. Planned obsolescence apparently. And funny how it goes dead a month before the contract runs out- I think there is a guy with a big switch, like a wizard of Oz, behind a curtain with a list of who is due for renewals, then BAM, the switch goes off just in time. So anyway I have my new phone and it charges nicely. And it will last for exactly 23 months, so there I go.

I also got my new tiny camera since I dropped the old one and it split in two. I snapped it back together but the LED screen wouldn't work any more. The thing is, this camera comes without a card- you have to buy that extra, which no one mentions until you open the box! I must have twenty small capacity cards lying around, of course back in Boston, so I sure hope they will fit. I'm going over to the studio today to cannibalize the broken camera first- think that was a big card. Sure would be nice to start out the day when something would go right and I wouldn't have to scurry around to spend more money! Love the size of this, will fit in a tight jeans pocket even, about half the size of the last Elph (why I'm doubting the card...) Anyway I can't even test it till I get one.

And you can thank me now because I used spell check- even I was distressed at the last few posts.
