(You don't have anywhere else to be for awhile, do ya?)
Anybody make it through all that drek? Let me just mention that a 'statement' is just that, a short and pithy few words describing your work, your motivation, or your methods. It isn't a bio or a thesis. What is the problem with simplicity? Let these be a lesson. and also, stay away from video unless you are a video artist and know what you're doing!

First! I am an artist and I find artist statements predominantly stupid and pompous, so I write haiku instead... and try not to be stupid or pompous.
I have to add that the next day, a co-worker pulled up the "I like stories" one to show me, all on his own. I knew I liked him. We watched it again anyway because it is just so funny. The subtitles are exactly what my brain does most of the time when I'm reading artist statements. Me bad.
