Purple Dinner's Magesty

On Wednesday I stormed into Whole Foods and complained about the Italian Artisanal Chickens I bought because they were despicable (can't say that without thinking of Donald Duck). They cooked for an hour and 15 minutes and I had flattened them out by cutting out their backbones so they would cook perfectly (Called 'spatchcocked'

when you treat them so, and cook with a brick on top to weight them down.) They were quite small, dare I say too small? They had no meat and yet they were still raw at the bone. YES, I TESTED THEM and the bones wobbled the way they are supposed to and I was worried they were too done. Ha. Anyway Whole Foods gave me my money back- I can only hope that my friends I was TRYING to help out give me my pans back, but they might just keep 'em to pay for the pizza they probably had to order afterwards. I know they won't be hoping for a return engagement. What a disappointing chicken. The imam byaldi,

however, was primo. And the clafoutis

was excellent too. Hope they had some cheese and crackers to fill up on.

Crit group was really good this time though two of us weren't there. Everybody had big news and things to show which usually doesn't happen at this time of year. I showed them the QR quilt in progress and did a demo of how they will be able to 'read' it with a magazine page that had a QR code. And Linda brought me some of her old fabrics to use- there were several that I took some odd edges off and used for a bit more variety. Sylvia also has a whole studio-full of stuff that I will go raid before I get too far into building this. My biggest hope is that it isn't boring. I tend to make boring bed quilts. Now Folks, the PROCESS NEWS: Today I took a couple of hours and separated out the values, then mixed up the fabrics within those values so half of the fabrics are ready to sew. I'll finish up the sorting tomorrow and hopefully get a bit o time in on it. (I know, not much. Sorry) But do you like the new Process color?

Today I was going great guns and was overtaken by a sick doggie. She's been really lethargic and throwing up with diarrhea for two days now so thought it was something she ate but it continued too long for that (and I was getting a bit tired of following her around and holding her hair back while she barfed- only of course on the Bokhara. sigh. I took her out at noon and she pooped blood so I freaked out and called the vet right away. They said to bring her in for a 'drop-off' appointment and they would check her out so off we went. They basically watched her for a couple of hours, rehydrated her and gave her a prescription for nausea. I then went and trade

$343 to get her back. She is still lethargic but seems to be a bit perkier since she had some chicken and rice with her pill hidden in it. So there went that day. And any thoughts of ever shopping again.

Too bad I already mail-ordered a dress from Anthropologie earlier today. Very cool, and I can almost ZIP it. Oh well, it will look very cute in my closet.

If I think what is happening in Tibet that gives me throwing up and diarrhea too.
