Narrow Dehydrate Galilee

The Last Turkey Feathers

This spectacular platter was used in the White House and now resides in the National Gallery.  I can't imagine putting anything on it, especially a slippery greasy turkey!  Isn't it beautiful?  Happy Thanksgiving to all of you.

I am not cooking for the first time in years, a fact that nullifies the turkey leftover problem which is frankly more important than the actual day-of!  So I bought 4 huge turkey thighs (most people go for the breasts and the leg parts have to go somewhere, right?  I stuck them in my slow cooker yesterday with the ingredients to make a North Carolina style BBQ normally used for pork, and within no time the house smelled simply wonderful.  I pulled them out of their spicy vinegary bath last night and they were cooling.  TY looked at the pile of meat with distaste and I left the house for my annual Thanksgiving eve shopping tour (because nobody is in the stores!)  When I got back the bowl was half full-  he had picked at it all evening and loved it.  So tomorrow we WILL have turkey leftovers, but on a BBQ roll and spicy shredded meat.

And next, for your holiday meal entertainment:   Turkey

and Mashed Potatoes

Served with Biscuits and Gravy!

(time for that line separator telling you when I am changing to more serious)

Yesterday I got THREE copies of the new 'Pages' book from Cloth Paper Scissors-  the one my little artist's book appears in.  I am so happy-  one for the studio, one to take back to Boston to show the crit group, and one TYgrabbed and happily installed in the bathroom.  Sigh.  I was kind of thinking coffee-table but I guess more eyes would see it in the bathroom.  Oh well.  They really did a great job putting this together with all sorts of different ideas for exploration.  You can also see the table of contents and get a digital copy at their site.  If you are at all intrigued about Artists Books, or multiples, or looking at great pictures!

This has been a bounteous publishing autumn for me-  two more books coming out soon with my stuff in them, so stay tuned.  It's been  along time since I've had bragging rights and I may get a bit insufferable.

Or maybe I have already achieved that. Don't tell me, please.
