Everything seems to be going along fine, but family dynamics can turn problematic today. You might feel as if you've been here before, and you're growing tired of being pushed into a corner. This time you're ready to stand your ground. Thankfully, your unflappable determination won't let you down now. Once you make up your mind to get to the bottom of a difficult situation, you could be pleasantly surprised with your quick results.
Horrors. HOW DO THEY KNOW???
OK, I am still marooned in Boston without a paddle. Had a horrendous flight home the other day, people were actually screaming throughout the plane because of the turbulence, but we plowed through to GA when it started to smooth out. It was the bumpiest flight I can remember in years. Fortunatel;y the weather up here has been very nice- sunny and beautiful, occasionally windy, and I was blessed with barely seeing six snow flakes when the weather guy had predicted six INCHES of snowflakes. Whew.
I had made a list of all the people I had to see, things I had to do, and I think I've clipped them off one by one. Today I fulfilled the last 'to-do' and I can now sit here and read until the cab comes tomorrow.
There is a shower for my almost-daughter-in-las in Iowa next weekend and I felt really badly deciding not to go but she is great about understanding. I put together a batch of things for them for the present and wanted to give it to them here rather than hauling it back to FL and then mailing it to IA and then her having to ship it back to MA- seemed kind of silly, BUT I am old and stupid and forgot the bag the other night when I met them for dinner. That meant I had to get it to them today but they were working the SOWA Winter Farmers Marketin the South End and I had to find it and bring it to them. Turns out I was happy to get into the market- because winter in Boston is, let's say, not very produce-heavy, most of the booths were things people had made or baked or canned. There was alot of knitting and jewelry thought nothing really caught my eye that I couldn't do myself. But it was fun to be in the bustle of the market and not have to set up and take down and smile all day. Nate and Jackie were doing a great job, not that her macarons needed hype, but they are making connections and hopefully taking some orders for events. Here's the FB page: Blue Macaron (the blue ones BTW are intense lush vanilla)
Tell me you'd say 'no-thanks' to one of these!
Oh yeah. the half dozen I bought (actually seven with the addition of the special little pink heart weekly special macaron) went directly to TY's aunt and uncle who are stuck in Boston rather than FL this winter because of a series of illnesses. I bet they love them! On another front, my friend who went blind is slowly regaining her sight as the brain swelling goes down. She is still missing a view out of her left eye but all hope is that with the recovery she has made this far, that she may regain her normal sight in full. Nothing like a bunch of die-hard friends cheering her on with all those good wishes! Yes, folks, it worked. I couldn't be happier for her.
Only thing I didn't get to was a visit to the only local fabric store here that I love- she carries mostly linens and silks and every time I go in I find something beyond special. I just didn't have time that jibed with her hours this trip. So, probably I'll get back into adding to this after tomorrow when I have real computers at my disposal. This old laptop just doesn't do it. See you tomorrow.
