Franklin Frantic Fraternal

You have to look carefully.

This has everything to do with my new Kickstarter project.  The folks at the Jaffe Center at FAU have been watching the kids walking around with their tattoos and have decided it's its own form of an artist's book.  So, they were looking for some $$ to make a short film about it they are calling Stories of the Skin.  I LOVE the Jaffe Ctr, based on a huge gift from Mr Jaffe who is there every day and celebrating his 91st birthday this month. If ever you are in or around Boca Raton, you must stop by to see their amazing book collections.  They also have great classes there, so if you're here for longer than a weekend, check them out.

And RATS, I just found that Dorothy Simpson Krause, my favorite artist's bookmaker,  has been there at the Jaffe as Artist-in-Residence all semester but I've not been following along like I should!  Guess life has just managed to fly by me this spring.  But now I'm back and rarin' to go.

So, here is to tomorrow, when I hit the studio weraing my roller skates, sweep all the junk off my tables and ready myself for a new project.  It's already fermenting in my head, and I've done some on-line ordering so supplies are on the way.  Here's a hint:  it's black.  And my fingers are itchy.  Wish me luck/

I met Mr Jaffe, when I took Quilt 21 down to Boca one year, walked him through the exhibit and babbled artist book with him. A true Mensch as my grandmother would say.

Love Dorothy, did a studio visit at her house when I was putting together an artist book show up in Lowell years ago. She is awesome and her work is mind bogglingly wonderful. (I got to touch her books, tee hee)
