casteth imperishable noxious

and that's what today's theme will be!

Everyone has talent. What is rare is courage to follow the talent

Sandy has an Open Studio-
the view in the rear view mirror
All went pretty well, I had about 30 people wander through and most arrived a half hour before my little talk which was gratifying.  I went home with practically all my wine and a case of beer is still in the mini-fridge.  I have enough crackers left for several more open studios but I think this was the last in the series.  The sad thing is that men just don't show up-  too busy taking their afternoon naps or getting trapped or something. I think I only had five or six (hence the leftover beer!)
It turned out that just about every quilt I had pinned up was made with vintage fabrics, something I noticed at the last minute so made a theme out of it for my talk.  I also covered how certain fortuitous events came together to give me access to people who gave me the boost when I needed it.  Then I talked about some of the older work with a pile of Kaffe Fassett fabrics jammed into a big basket in front of me.  The reason for that was that everything I was showing was made with either the stripes or the shot cottons.  I talked about how I showed a simple piece to Liza that I had made years ago and the next thing I knew I had a huge box of the incredible shot cotton fabrics from Westminister and an offer to design a piece for their book.  Which led to being in three books WITH my name included on the cover, something I had never seen done before.  I credited this with a lot of teaching offers and a bit more recognition back then.  And of course I hd the books in front of me too.
The tent in front of the garage looked cute, but the damn thing was green instead of white like I had imagined in my head.  I hauled the garage door up to open up the space and the sun even went in for a bit so it wasn't too hot.  In the end I didn't really need the tent but it added to the festive part, at least in my brain.
The best part?  Laurie came down from Nashville to help out and, boy, I sure needed her!  I was able to get another set of eyes on what looked good where, and she was cool calm and collected as I brought the garage door down on my head and hit the decks for a few minutes.  Wow, do I ever have a headache today from that!  She offered suggestions, she gave me support, and worked her tail off doing things I had never considered!
So, thanks, Laurie, you're the best.
Horrors Today:  The reflective Moon is back in your sign today, placing you directly in touch with your own cycle of renewal and rejuvenation. Listen to your co-workers who seem to have your best interests at heart because they are like spirit whisperers, quietly guiding you toward your next move. Fortunately, having the support of trusted allies further improves your chances for happiness.
And that is where I am today- headed to the studio to get it back into working shape, grateful for my friends, and determined to clean out stuff as I go to organize and simplify  things as I move through the overstuffed work space.  But first a little blogging~

Designer Dominic Wilcox describes why he chose to hang a row of bird cages above a street in London in the next movie we filmed about the Seven Designers for Seven Dials aerial installations curated by Dezeen.
South Africa-based knitter Lynn Garrett makes lovely armchair slipcovers that look cable knit Aran sweaters. They are available to purchase at her Etsy shop.  And you can find it and identify it if someone throws it overboard.
Or you can wrangle a sheep and make your own.

Now watch This new music video by Cyriak Harris which almost defies description, Cyriak uses mid 20th-century stock video as building blocks to create machines, robots, and other bizarre tableaus reminiscent of Terry Gilliam-esque zoetropes.

Here's a mind-blowing series of animated gifs by Patakk. I didn't post them here because they are SO intrusive and I'm scared for you if you have vertigo, but you have to see this guy's digital work.

To conclude and let you get on with whatever it is you are supposed to be doing,

I am way behind on blog reading so I just got to this post. Your "Twins" look amazing! Wish I could see them better, especially the blue and white one. I am in awe.
