demonstrate retribution peak

Being held captive in my house..., plight of the one-car family

“I’d like to quit the supernatural roles and play just an interesting, down-to-earth person.”—Bela Lugosi

In spite of all my worrying, today in the mail I received my new passport.  One week, I think that's some sort of record.  So I have checked it off officially from the 'to do' and the 'follow-up' columns and put it into the DONE column.  Good.  Now I can just concentrate on how to get my warmer clothes and fail-proof walking shoes from Boston before I pack.

A few things that you should NOT buy your children, OK, it's just my opinion, but really...
A shave-the-ginger-baby set, those pesky Japanese don't seem to know where we gingers have hair, or how much, or that babies generally don't need shaving...

Teach your toddler to Pole Dance, she will be the life of the preschool party circuit.

Totally stylin' Tattoo set, and a gift certificate for cover-up bad spelling work:
Maybe your kid will grow up to be a teacher, but probably not.

Chocolate Zombie Bunnies, bite off their heads, chew on their feet...Buns here looks a bit shell shocked now that her realizes his fate.

I've been stuck in the house all morning while my car is out at a golf match.  I got beds changed, wash done, dogs walked, and a bunch of other tasks completed like the dutiful wife I never was.  Fortunately a friend called and a bunch of us went to the local roadside hot dog place or I might have gone drastic for the rest of the day.  Fortune intervened and away we went on an onion ring quest.  We conquered.

I don't have much exciting to report since I couldn't even get to the studio today, but I did have fun with Teddy and her visit yesterday.  We haven't seen each other in a long time and she is down here for the Palm Beach Guild show and needed a place to drop for a few hours, and I was happy to oblige.  We got caught up and she went on her way up to her hostess' house for the weekend.  Wish I could see more of her.  She did manage to get into my bathroom where I keep all my old quilts stacked and out she came with probably the oldest one I own.  I bought it at an auction shortly after I started quilting because I liked the old fabrics and would go anywhere with my dear old friend Linda.  She made me do it.  Anyway this quilt was on my bed for all the years we lived in Wellesley and by the time we left it was in pretty poor shape-  whole lines of fabric were disintegrating and falling off.  I had done some rudimentary repair work to keep it together a bit longer (which Teddy spotted immediately) and she dated the fabrics from the early 1800's.  What a pity it's in such bad shape now, BUT I got years of enjoyment out of it that I never would have if it was stored in a box.  Poor old thing, at this point it ain't even a cutter!

The only thing I did was get a backing put on the 1937 Snow White story (see yesterday's post) so now it is officially and REALLY finally done.  I'll resize the images and get them filed away just in case any opportunity ever comes up that someone needs a Snow White book.

So, with all my housewifery today I am pretty well caught up, just need some food but I think I can wrangle a dinner out since I was so trapped today.  Devious of me.  Tomorrow first thing we head for the shop to pick up TY's car with it's new fuel pump, then off I go to do everything I thought of today simply because I COULDN'T do it.

UPDATE UPDATE-  friends had spent the day at the Greek Festival down the road a piece, and they brought back five boxes of food so I am all set now, with the bonus Baklava for dessert!  I peeked in and the pieces are HUGE.  Sometimes the earth just takes care of us in spite of ourselves.

That last one was supposed to be the little girl in the back of the car, not fourteen ads in German!  Sorry,  guess I should go now.
