"Bad artists copy. Good artists steal." - Pablo Picasso

Whole day in the studio, only arrived home in time to stuff some squid for dinner.  I was having printer problems because I was trying to send book pages through the printer and they were too thin to catch correctly so I had to pick out shreds after every second or third print.  Thank goodness my rip-up book has over 700 pages in it.  At this rate I'll need another one.  I used my liquid graphite that dried up, just used it as a paste and stenciled on some things, then got out some geometric stencils and used those. That's when I remembered I took a bunch of pictures of a cement mixer on the ay over so processed all those and printed more book pages with those images.  busy busy.  But I found a new podcast to listen to and the time flew by.  Can't wait to get back in there tomorrow.  Just wanted you to know I am actually doing SOMETHING.  Just can't exactly say what that might turn out to be yet.  Oh well, it's better than sitting here watching TY flip through his new Roku.  yawn.

For almost every day last month Malaysian artist/architect Hong Yi (who often goes by the nickname Red) created a fun illustration made with common (and occasionally not so common) food. Her parameters were simple: the image had to be comprised entirely of food and the only backdrop could be a white plate. With that in mind Yi set out to create landscapes, animals, homages to pop culture, and even a multi-frame telling of the three little pigs.

Turtle Sweaters

Katie Bradley has created hand-crocheted tortoise and turtle cozies to keep your testudine warm as it roams about the house. Or to keep an eye on them as they roam the backyard!  The tiny turtle sweaters are available for purchase from MossyTortoise on Etsy.

Other animals in sweaters:

A new gallery,Nave Gallery Annex (Davis Square), 53 Chester St., Somerville, MA.
In its early years, the Nave Gallery Annex was a rooming house, welcoming strangers from near and far and providing affordable shelter for those in need of warmth and community.Through yarn-based art, and knitted and crocheted items, The Annex  recreates this home space as a yarnstormed installation. Be prepared to never envision a home in quite the same way again.
OPENING RECEPTION:Wednesday, April 17, 6-8 pm

People in odd sweaters: Iris Arad

Banksy in Brooklyn, doing a series of sad clowns, nobody knows why.

I’m not sure it’s possible to infuse black tape with more energy than Polish artist Monika Grzymala has accomplished with her piece Raumzeichnung, roughly “Drawing Room”. The three dimensional installation which seems to launch from columns in the basement of Galerie Crone was installed in 2012 and required 3.1 miles (that’s 5km) of stretched, cut, and criss-crossed tape. According to Ignant the artist begins her work from scratch in the gallery, working intuitively with tape to sketch out ideas as she conceives them until the work is done.

And to top it off, HAIRSTYLES!  Pick one---  My personal preference is for the 'COCKADE'.
hey, I didn't name it.
