Reading goes quick if you don't sweat comprehension!     Calvin

Hi Bunnies.  Sorry I've taken the weekend off, but even worse I'm headed out o town for a few days so probably won't be able to post much until next weekend.  Yup, it's time to go visit the little kiddos an finish up hauling stuff out of the condo.  Hopefully I can get all my work finished and move on with my day-to-day doing nothing much back home here in Florida.  TY and I are trying a new 'system' this summer.  I am staying put (for the most part) and he will commute from Boston to Florida.  He likes being around his family and his old friends on the golf course.  I like being around my dogs and to be honest, I love the rainstorms here.  The dogs unfortunately don't share my passions.  But at least this way I can stay on a regular studio schedule and I don't have to endure the three day ride back up I-95 with two dogs who are not good travelers.  Well, Molly is fine, she curls up and sleeps for three days, but Mr. Pepper flings his body from one side to the other crying piteously with anxieties.  For 1500 miles.  I can't take it.
(pretending to be a good well-balanced dog)

(guarding my fabric)
Plus the 'dog friendly' hotels along the way are pretty much hideous, making the Mildew Motel back in western New York seem downright elegant.

So, that's my plan.

MEANWHILE, if you have time to kill, this is a wonderful video about Goya that I recommend highly.  You can watch it in sections instead of reading my blog every day!  Really, watch it.  No, I won't quiz you afterward.

Ontario Artist Floyd Elzinga works with a wide variety of materials to create sculptural landscapes, installations, and even cut steel flags. My favorite of his works are these giant metal pine cones made from welded spade heads.  Quote from his website:  'I make objects to give dimensionality to ideas.'

Hey, I have an idea-  maybe I'll actually haul the laptop along with me-  it's just that it's so heavy...  TBD.
