or at least plays dirty tricks...
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." ~ Mark Twain
Last night we went up to the clubhouse and stood on the upper deck to watch fireworks- there were some here set off by a friend of ours but the spectacular show was all around the area as far as we could see- a 280 degree fireworks show from all the surrounding towns. It was wonderful and the deck was full of families of friends visiting for the weekend. The bugs got to TY so we left before the shows stopped, but could hear and also even see some all the way home and well into July 5th, dammit.
Woke up this morning planning to pick Nate up from the airport because he was flying down to help his dad drive the 1500 lies back up the coast shepherding the two dogs and their bag of meds! Got a call that he had missed his plane (sigh, because he was up all night getting an ad ready for Monday)) but he was looking to take another one. Later he called back with his new flight which unfortunately arrived in Ft. lauderdale- an hour+ ride from here. But we went down and found him. TY was stressed with the extra 2 hours he has to drive today, I was a mess because one of the dogs walked right out of his harness that was supposed to keep him tethered to the seatbelt, the one who would run off and we'd never see him again! I made sure and have his ID tags checked. Anyway, an hour ago they took off, and within a few minutes the sky turned leaden and the wind stopped completely- means there is going to be another belly washer coming through. But I have to LET IT GO.
It's now time for Molly's injection and dinner... but I'm not gonna call. I'm not gonna call.
I'm NOT gonna call.
So I am now alone and dogless here trying to close the house. Already with the hysteria happening this morning we forgot to put out the trash and I'll be gone before the next pick-up. But we did get the lawn furniture and pool toys and planters buckled down 'just in case'. Tonight some good friends are taking me out for dinner so maybe by then I'll be calmed down from the frenzy. Could be I need a drink with that guardian angel!
And a little appeal to a sense of order
Dietmar Voorworld is an artist who takes rocks, pebbles and leaves he finds in nature and turns them into memorable pieces of land art. While on a trip to Greece, he starting playing with the sand and pebbles on one of its beaches and felt an artistic inclination to "create something." His first mosaic arose out of that experience and he continued down this path, seeing it more as a playful hobby than a full-time career. He started to photograph his works, and after finding a strong connection to the beauty of Scottish landscapes, he eventually settled down in northern Scotland, creating stunning land art works along its coasts.
guess who!
Adam Lister creates incredible reinterpretations of famous paintings, painters, pop icons and art world events using watercolors sectioned into distinctly retro digital forms. It’s a fun and revealing way to view the classics. Lister’s work acts like a filter to view these pieces through – but rather than blurring the original, each is instantly recognizable. In fact, aspects like color harmony and layout are brought more into focus, giving us another chance to assess the endearing qualities of the classics.
