apt phyllis consonant

Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit.
Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.

Sneezy is taking art at Penn State-  plain air painting!

Well, we made an offer on a condo today, signed a whole bunch of papers online, wrote a whiny letter about how we are perfect for the place, something newly required if you haven't been in the RE market in a few years.  Sent a deposit just to prove we can, and now we sit back on our haunches and see if we are accepted to buy this place or not.  It really hits all our wish boxes, so I hope it's a 'go' but won't know for awhile.  Meanwhile one of my offspring has put in an offer on another house, and we are waiting for the closing in 2 weeks of our little house in FL.  Whole Lotta Real Estate Goin' On!

All that readin' and signin' and faxin' and phonin' took most of the morning and I didn't manage to escape until late afternoon.  Where did I go?  Why, to Walgreens for Molly's meds and then on to Home Depot because that is my way of having Fun in the Sun lately.  Molly peed on the travertine floor in the bathroom and even though I thoroughly cleaned it up as soon as I discovered it (splash splash), it left an etched area where it sat.  I read online that I might be able to disappear it by using consecutively finer grained sandpaper to 'polish' it up again.  Silly me, I thought it WASN'T polished.  Anyway I have 180, 220, and 400 grit sandpaper and it's going to get a workout tomorrow.  The guy who told me about it online was a Marine so he probably knows what he's talking about.

I did manage to get to the studio for a short time today and got a bunch more squares cut for whatever it might be I am making out of stripes.  Basically I am cutting horizontal 6" squares, 4", 3" and 2" horizontal rectangles and a bunch of verticals in similar sizes.  And all these have either orange, red or red-lavender predominating.

I also found some old sea charts of a mess of tiny islands somewhere around Indonesia that I may use for a small quilt piece.  But for now I have so many other irons in the fire that I may put this off for awhile.

I didn't have much time, had to get to the bocce finals to watch TY's team.  It was wonderful being out in the sun and watching some good shots even though they finally lost.  Now, here it is 10 PM and I have nothing to show for it.  No quilt, no condo, no time to watch Midsomer Murder episode!  Time flies, doesn't it?  Let's learn SOMETHING for our effort of staying awake-  Here's Edgar!

Hypoallergenic has posted artists astrological predictions and mine is here:

Leo (July 23–August 22)

Cupid is a mischievous fellow, but we don’t have to tell you that, Leo; you’re well acquainted with his whims. Sometimes he’s wielding his bow and love darts with impunity; other times he’s surreptitiously giving people love potions. Well, this month it’s payback time, because you will be fully in command of your romantic fortunes. Pick your favorite art historical depiction of Cupid getting his comeuppance — Pierre Mignard’s is ours, hands down — and keep that image in your mind until May.

TIME CLIPPING CUPID'S WINGS

Not at all interested in what Cupid has in store for me these days.  I'm waiting for May, and on to something else.
