This morning I made bacon coated with chipotle pepper and maple syrup- to die for. Then we had pancakes and I made enough for the whole week if I can hide them from TY. Damn NYTs is very small today, but it includes the obits for all the people who died this year- some very sad stories and some very uplifting ones. My eyes hurt from leaking.
TY's present to me was the small Elph camera I have been lusting after- so tiny and I will carry it much more often since it fits in my pocket- get ready for lots more pictures of boring stuff, the first will be a series of the times I get caught at draw bridges down here- lots of time to FOCUS as ya sit there watching it inch uuuuuppppp, sit there for 10 minutes, then inch dooooooownnnnn, meanwhile swearing under your breath at the dipshits in the yachts that go through the Intercoastal-- guys who are scared to go into the actual ocean. I wasn't exactly SURPRISED by this camera as he left the webpage open on my computer after he ordered it. (I shoulda opened it secretly and charged the battery yesterday!)
I have to invest now in a different kind of memory card since I already have a couple of 500+ for the other 30# Canon. Also I need a case of some kind so it doesn't get scratched by my levis pocket rivets.
Bought two Italian cakes at the little shop we discovered- one with pastry cream and the other with whipped cream. The little lady wanted to know what we wanted written on them and TY said 'Merry Christmas' on one and 'Happy New Year' on the other- and I asked that she write it in Italian- she got tears in her eyes and started feeding me cookies out of the case. I got her number

We finally had our next door neighbors over for dinner last night. I already had 2 lasagnas in the refrigerator and plenty of salad stuff and wine so it was a no-brainer. We sat around our Festivus Tree (because it looks more like an aluminum pole that a pine) lit up with wicker tomato lights and listened to old Blues CDs- very nice celebration.
I really hope I can get down to the neighborhoods with all the decorations tonight to take some pictures with the new camera- and I hope I can find the guy with the ferris wheel mechanism running Santa and a parcel of reindeer around his roof again. I don't know if I will be able to photograph it without it just being streaks of color but it's certianly worth the try.
That's all for now- I will add pictures later tonight after we get home. And a Happy Festivus to all of you who manage to find me here! Here is the Christmas Rainbow we saw this afternoon!
