(When we yell 'woofs!', Molly comes hysterically running out of wherever she is napping to see what's on television! We started doing this because she woudn't respond to 'wolves'. If we yell 'doggies!' she also runs to the television but expects only cute ones, and turns her back if it's Animal Precinct or a fire department rescue. Poor doggie. We sure hope that we are never under seige by wolves, or if we are, that they only bark 'woof' to alert her. So far there doesn't seem to be a cat reaction but maybe we don't know her words yet.)
Two Wolves (or, TWO WOOFS)
One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a
battle that goes on inside people.
He said, "My son, the battle is between two
"Wolves" inside us all.
One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret,
greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false
pride, superiority, and ego.
The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility,
kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather:
"Which wolf wins?"
The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

Where did you get the story? I love it. lysrian@hotmail.com
I have shown this photo to every person I can think of, I think it is so funny.
Years ago, the ex was taking an important exam and was stressed. I, trying to be supportive, thought I'd give him a real laugh and I filled the front lawn with about 10-12 flamingos. He came home, we had a good laugh and the next day the flamingos got moved to the veggie garden out back.
A long time later, my across the street neighbor who I didn't know very well (now I know she's a kook) at the time asked me very round aboutly - what happened to the flamingos. Apparently they were QUITE concerned that they were going to stay out front! I had a really really big laugh about that later. And I still think about it when those neighbors are kooky.
