Barn Storm Carriage
So I designated yesterday as the day I would finally drive up to the gallery in Manchester and pick up my quilts- they have 2 that I have left there for some time, and other than the commission I haven't been too religious about rotating the merch. So I wanted one of the quilts for my show and was motivated enough to give them a call and tell them to roll 'em up, cause here I come.
I have a GPS, a TomTom that I have set to an Australian man's voice--- quite a distraction when driving to be with an Aussie, always afraid I will migrate to the wrong side of the road but I am digressing. I had the gallery address and put it into Tom as I pulled out of the garage. The sun was blinding and I was guessing at some of the settings but it was working fine and away we went. i was sort of surprised when it told me to go straight across my Mass Pike entrance, thought it was taking me a shorter way I didn't know about, so I followed Tom's directions as he told be where to bear, where to turn- but after an hour I was still in Lexington and the whole ride can be done in an hour. I was on back roads and it was a beautiful day so I was enjoying the fall scenery. Another hour passes and I am still on back roads and still in Massachusetts. Talk about every Middlesex village and farm...But I am talking to my trusty companions, the furry one, and the Aussie and the ride was beautiful. I kept thinking we were going to soon get on a highway, but I was going fast and didn't have a big map so had no clue where we were.
About 2 1/2 hours into the trip I finally passed into New Hampshire and breathed a sigh that ole Tom indeed knows what he is doing, but noticed I was only halfway in miles- still had 25 to go, and I had only come 25. Another hour and a half go by and we are finally in downtown Manchester and Tom is leading me around the industrial district like he has been there before. Four friggin hours for a one hour trip! I immediately let the furry companion out to pee and turned off the Aussie for bad behavior. After I retrieved my quilts I got directions home that were much more familiar- two highways, a straight shot, badda bing. So I reset the TomTom- come to find out, with all the glare while setting the original trip, I hit BICYCLE ROUTE by mistake. My trip home was a hard whack on FASTEST ROUTE and the Aussie was pretty much quiet all the way home.

This is too funny! Sounds like something I would do.
I might start calling it Russell and looking for a place to pull over. Does it have a Spock voice?
