Teletypesetting Accipiter

YA-hoo! Finished three collages and the whole buck's body yesterday! Shows ya what a little cool weather can do for me. I was out walking Molly and took my camera to grab a few fire plugs (I want to do a fire-plug piece next and already have a bunch, just need a few more to finish it up- they are all wearing little hard hats and have faces!) and found another dumpster too- I was taking just one side of it because the other side was towards the house (apparently doing renovations) when the Boss Man came out to see what I was doing. I kinew he was the Boss because he wasn't Guatamalan- I explained my collages and he breathed a sigh of relief- he thought I was photographing the telephone number on the dumpster and I may have been hit by it!

So, we were both happy that neither of us were busted. I was happy about this dumpster because it was the first red one I got, but it was pretty unblemished so not as interesting as the older crappy ones with graffiti on the sides. I see great graffiti on the sides of the trains as I wait for them to pass, but wouldn't dare get out of the car to try and capture some of it- would probably just blur anyway. Here is one of the more interesting captures I got- just a bunch of dried plaster and paint, hardly any bubbles or rust which is what I go after.

Now this one has GOOD bubbles and rust, even some striped shirts hanging out of it plus huge decals with letters and numbers. This is the dumpster that got me started- unfortunately not too many have such personality.
Evidence
The 'evidence' here is an unfortunate oversight when I was taking these pictures- you get my hand and camera included as a shadow. I took this picture several years ago and know a bit more now- that's not saying I pay any closer attention to things like this. I sort of like using things as I find them so I included it as my little artist's reference point.

Abandoned Dumpster
This was one cool dumpster- it had the orange construction fencing hanging out of it, it was in strong sun so cast nice dark shadows, and had both splatters and graffiti. It went together like I knew what I was doing or something! No bubbles of glue, no wavy edges, and I love the results.

And now for something completely different, I am gonna tell you about
Cuban Sandwiches:

Take one Cuban sub roll, this is a sweet large white bread roll with a nice crust. You could substitute a sub roll if you aren't near any vast population of Cubans. Open the roll and spread one side with some sour cream and the other side with good ball park mustard. Then layer on some mild provalone cheese on both sides. Add roasted pork, a few slices of thin cut ham (use prociutto or speck or even thin sliced Black Forest ham), and some sliced dill pickles- use the ones cut lengthwise. Next add a few thin sliced tomatoes and some lettuce. Add thin layers of butter to both sides of the closed roll, put it into a skillet and weight it down with another skillet. When the bottom is nicely toasted, turn the sandwich over and press it down hard with a spatula to flatten it further, put the top skillet back on and toast the second side. These can be made ahead, squashed and wrapped in foil, and refrigerated until you are ready to toast them. This is one fabulous sandwich. Yum- This is what I make anybody who comes to visit- c'mon down!
