Textural Demonic Dingbat

Geesh, if I didn't have carpal tunnel before today I sure got it now. Have spent the entire day so far (after getting my mess o' shortribs gurgling on the stove) reworking images for a new website. I cannot believe how bad I have been at this sort of 'housekeeping'- I have images of all sizes and shapes that have been cropped too close, or have edges completely cropped, images on black backgrounds which look hideous on a white page, images scanned from slides (horrendous), and off kilter, off color, and off the charts! I am only half done, because everything in Photoshop takes me longer than scissors and paper, damn them anyway. What is with 'layers' anyway? And I haven't even considered any detail shots yet.

I have found the wonderful 'straighten image' tool however so no more looking like I was on a steep incline while shooting these. The results will be available soon, but I am dumping the donabed.net address and picking up a new one. The original website I did in 1998 thanks to a class in html at Cambridge Adult Ed. But as time went on and I lost more brain cells to the invaders, all knowledge of html became unnecessary info to hold onto, and it was head-dumped in my sleep apparently. So what happened was that every time I made a change or moved something around I had to re-learn it or make up cheat sheets. Getting old is hell doncha know? But it certainly is a damn site better than what happened to Marcel Marceau today.

He died. I know he was almost a caracature of himself with his striped shirt and rose in his teeth, and I certainly wouldn't pay money to see his act, probably because I have seen it a hundred times performed by anyone who has a hat to set down for spare change. But the guy did something new and different (back then) and was imitated far and wide. You have to hand it to him even if you feel about mimes like I do.

Don't like clowns much either, but at least mimes aren't creepy.

When I told Jim that MM had died he asked "What were his last words?".
