Ronalda McDonabed enticing wildlife wherever she goes.

My new shy best friend. Check out the eyelashes to die for. This was taken on the High Road to Taos Open Studio Tour- a three hour ride on dusty roads through gorgeous scenery. We stopped at about 5 or 6 places and were very pleased with the high quality of so many of the artist's works. But we eventually wore ourselves out and headed on into Taos to eat the fifth meal of the day. Something about those green chilis are intoxicating.

My hotel: Mrs. Bates has left the building. Actually, when we pulled to the side of the dirt road to snap this picture, a very angry lady shook her cane at us and motioned us to keep moving. And she sent a rampant kitten out to scare us to make sure we understood her anger. Guess we looked like we were from the repro company and were going to grab her barn. Oh well.
Now, the Real Reason I am in Santa Fe was the Santa Fe Wine and Chili Fiesta the other day. What a grand feast! There were hundreds of vintners filling up our souvenir Reidel etched glasses and in between their table set-ups were all the chefs in the city giving out samples of whatever they thought would entice us into their restaurants. And boy, did we ever eat! Actually everybody managed to do their share of drinking too. It was held under huge tents at the Opera site, and was pretty impressive driving up the hill. Food was fabulous and you could line up for the rare lamb chops with the red chili as fast as you could down them (oh my- we are going to that restaurant for sure!)
Next we hit the last day of the exhibit of Sufi Art in Senegal

at the International Museum of Folk Art- my favorite all time museum experience. I loved it 20 years ago and it is still there to love. We didn't have time to see the other parts that day, but bought multi-day tickets so tomorrow that's where I will be. Here are two shots of a huge area between the entrance columns that has been crocheted with highway tape by the visitors to the museum:

Cool views through the crochet. I have a slew of these shots so will use them for something somewhere... stay tuned.
