So today was a trip to a discount linen store, just up the street, for some hangers. I was waiting in the endless line and there was a tall young Asian woman at the register in the next lane. She didn't speak English and was returning three BIG items. The clerk was patiently trying to explain to her that she could only get a 50% return on the items- my ears perked up as their voices escalated. Seems the Asian woman had bought doubles of all this stuff a few days ago because it was a second-item-half-off sale. Well she had decided to return just HER FIRST ITEMS and wanted full refunds on the returns. She simply couldn't understand why she had to pay full price for the items she was keeping. This went on and on through a whole fleet of supervisors and managers, and finally it was resolved as she huffed out of the store to go get all the first items to return too. I was wondering if she would come back.
But...
Then I went to the Home Depot next door for a stick for my quilt and, whoa Nellie!- there she was again trying to return a bunch of stuff for the same kind of sale! She had it all piled on the desk and the clerks were explaining that the sale was on the second items so she would only get a 50% refund. And she was acting like she couldn't understand the whole thing and, guess what? She ended up huffing out of Home Depot too saying she was going home to get the first items to return it all! Loudly.
The moral of the story is if you are a tall striking young Asian woman who only speaks Chinese, drop the scams and only buy one of what you need!
