Okey Dokey- finally I got some bad snapshots taken of the encaustic experiments. Here is 'Leopard Pants', 12" square on cradled board. Good parts- the idea, the pattern paper, the scissors image. Bad parts- the graphite transfer cutting lines that blew out with the heat gun. Made for a messy mess...
No Name, 8" square with silk ribbons bordering a cross section of a tree. I love this image, wish I would have transferred it rather than used the paper print! Doesn't it look like knitting? Right now this has no reason to be done in encaustic, needs some thinking.

Another No Name, 8" square- tried charcoal pencils and heat set inks here, the heat gun blew the charcoal out in a good way here, the problem child was the heat set inks that simply didn't dry. Finally I blotted them up and covered it with another coat of wax and a piece of lacy paper. Now I like it- reminds me of lava flow (reading from right to left). Hmmm, maybe I will turn it over...
And finally, the quilt top of the bridge I traveled every three weeks back and forth to Buffalo all those years. It's called Hudson River, about 48", sorta square, with hand painted, stamped and collaged linen (a former 80's blazer that I loved!) on canvas and vintage fabrics. Needs to be layered and bound, don't think I will wrestle this through the machine again, the applique was about enough sewing for me!

Just finished printing out my boarding pass to go home tomorrow, made my cab reservation and he's coming at FIVE AM---what was I thinking when I made this reservation... And today I am off to meet my old friend Judy for lunch, the banque for some buckos to pay the cab off, then to get my hair fixed from all the sun, and finally for (yeaaaa) a crit group meeting tonight. I'm so glad I could jam all this into three days in Boston.
