Maybe against their will, but these are all based on old quilt tops I have been given or found in somebody's trash or bought the squares on eBay or at Brimfield. I am trying so hard to work my way through this pile- cutting was only difficult on the first few. Let it be said that these 'foundlings' were never in great shape to begin with. Many hunks had to be tossed after they supported generations of mousies raising their families tucked safely inside. Or there were the smelly squares, or the miscellaneous stains- always a challenge. Many times I had to REpiece because the thread was rotted or it was a learning experiment gone wrong. But here is what has been done with my old pile o' quilts over the years:
(Hmmm, looks like there is a slight formatting issue, oh well, you aren't interested in which ones are made from the same old quilts are you? If you're even this far I'm sure just a quick scroll through is more than enough!)
and that is the end of the scroll through my iPhoto album of finished work made from old stuff. The earliest pieces were made in the early 80's, the last this year with a pile of stuff ready to cut up for the next one when I get back to the studio. It's wonderful that this has kept me interested- and has inspired me- all these years. S
