Jug Efficacious

(thanks to a Kickstarter project)

I was watching the PBS American Masters series that we taped (is it still 'taped'?)-  the one mostly about James Taylor and Carole King and the history of singer/songwriters as they broke off from working just writing songs for other groups and started writing for themselves-  here's a preview:

1. The people who used pot and psychedelics all made it through, while those who used coke and heroin washed up and died early.
2.  There was a window between the invention of the birth control pill and the advent of AIDS where we all had a Pretty Good Time.

(I know this is a generalization but pretty true from my own experiences. Both of these observations were David Crosby's.  Consider the source, I did, and I'm going with it.)
His eyes follow you around the room...

(the line of new thoughts, not necessarily better ones)

Notice I am starting to reconstruct my badges on the left for the umpteenth time.  Every time I try to mess with them they get deleted, and the new Blogger template doesn't load all the time on my computer so fixing it is transient at the best.  The Sketchbook Project badges aren't right but I'll work on them when I find the right ones.  meanwhile I did find out that the Sketchbook is DUE at the end of January so I have to get cracking' on that next-  I have my stuff all assembled but have to get it into the book and looking good and with pictures taken too so you get to see the progress page by page by page!  By page.

So, that is where I'll be on the New First Day -  starting with a Studio Blitz and a bang.  Yesterday I got the bulletin boards all cleared off and already the place is looking better.  I've been stacking the quilts on top of each other on the walls to keep them stored flat but it really makes a mess so I will roll them up and reveal the whole wall of homasote I had installed, and USE it for display, not storage!  I'm also going to give up and haul the big quilt rolls up the ladder and store them on top of the bathroom, out of the way, because basically they are out of my mind anyway-  need to make room for the new.  I have two encaustic series that need get up on display (one I need to tweak a bit first) so I'll do that too.  There are several people talking about studio visits so if the place looks more like a working area than a storehouse for a hoarder they may be interested in a purchase.   From my keyboard to gods eyes...

I just can't deal with an open studio this season so that's off the table for now.
When I get rid of the over 100 cigar boxes I'm stocking for the wedding centerpieces I'll also have less visual clutter so I'll work on that next just picking out the various piles that work together and how to assemble them.  And here I am talking about the wedding coming up again, I am so excited about it and it's getting closer every day now that we're finally in the right year!  Optimism reigns, love wins out again, and all is happy and bright. in this quarter.  Other quarters not so, but we're working on doing our best with that too.  Busy year ahead and we're gonna (TRY TO) make it a good one, aren't we?
Horrors, don't resist! :  Although you may be able to dazzle others with your song and dance, your presentation might lack real substance today. Your fun-loving approach disarms others, eliminating their resistance. Even an adversary won't be able to resist your charm in the long run because your subtle tenacity is relentless. Talking up a storm is fine; just remember to slow down and listen when following your heart's desires.  LMAO
