Well, except hemming pants which is my first big goal for the day. My second goal was to get both dogs on board for a studio day. Indeed they managed to get in the car together, no fighting, no barking, and arrive intact one mile away at the studio- their first ride together and no blood was shed. Another milestone. Molly is much more accepting of having Pepper in the pack now, not happy about it, but also not as Unhappy. Looks more and more like things are going in the right direction.
The Hanging Pitcher Plant
Received a note from the Yeiser Art Gallery that Fed Ex had come through with two days to spare getting my quilt to them, and in 'excellent' shape. Yahoo- now I don't have to worry about that for another 2 months. It's a long show, so if you are anywhere near Paducah, do take the trip over to see the show- it has a very promising range of participants that I'm quite proud to be associated with. So I am erasing the bad FedEx experience- or rather, assuming it was my fault for not checking the labels as they were being put on- I was in a dither over having to wait so long.
Air Plants tied into upright chicken wire on a column. LOVE this!
Got an email from a woman on my SAQA list yesterday who found my address and realized that I now live the a renovated church building her dad had tried to buy 50 years ago to use as a French restaurant! Small world indeed. Told her that her dad dodged a big bullet there as the building was in deplorable shape before it was renovated into condos.
Staghorn Ferns attached to a tree trunk, my favorite, if only I had a tree!
Late Wednesday I made my nightly call-in to the courts to check on whether I was needed the next day for my jury duty. I was told that I was released and to go on about my business- this was two days early. Now I do want to tell you that I have been called over and over, seems all I have to do is register to vote and by the time I get home I get that letter requesting my services. This was both in Massachusetts and now in Florida. I seem to be on a rotating call schedule and still have never actually served on a jury much to my disappointment. And so I am free again, they say for two years, before I can be called to be sent home next time. Because I among the few who actually want to do it, I just don't get
this story about a Denver woman who dressed like she was mentally ill to show up for her service. She did get excused right away but then unfortunately bragged about how she got out on a call-in radio talk show that the judge just happened to be listening to. And the long arm of the law reached out and tapped her on the shoulder...
Gee, I hope that they don't look at me as being mentally UNFIT. I thought I dressed in a businesslike manner, arrived with all papers intact, some knitting to occupy myself, and a sweater because the courts are cold. I didn't even want to get let go!
And now back to scanning cigar labels and resizing them to usable for the table cards for the wedding. And I don't even know what I'm doing, taking direction from 1500 miles away!

I've been a registered voter for about 40 years and have only had ONE summons letter, and was let off. My 21 y/o daughter has already had three!
I guess those subversive anti-Vietnam war arrests back in the 60's really paid off, I must be on some Do-Not-Summons list.
Darn, and I too, like you, am interested in serving!
