Focus your attention on your finances today, for the simple act of balancing your checkbook goes a long way toward preventing future headaches. Thankfully, you have a heightened ability now to shut out extraneous distractions, enabling you to do the basic accounting that otherwise can make you crazy. Sort through the details, set your priorities and settle down to work. And I will sit here and pay some bills. HATE that! But the pile is up to my elbow and they don't take care of themselves, do they...
(Speaking of raccoons--This little guy got himself trapped in a grate and the firefighters came and pulled him put with the help of grease and detergent. They then took him back to the firehouse and gave him a bath. Hope he found his mom after he got released because he needs a few more raccoony lessons before he's ready for Prime Time.)

Fabulous series of travel surreal travel photographs by NY photographer Ofer Wolberger called 'Life with Maggie', who is a masked woman encountering different situations. Make sure and look at all of them, here's Maggie with James Dean.
A few years ago I 'discovered' sriracha sauce, their one being my favorite brand, or perhaps just the largest supply a human is allowed to have on hand at any one time. But then I saw this with a spray attachment on top- It's now perfect! One shot and I'm good to go. Brilliant addition.
(BTW, this stuff makes everything taste a bit better, a Sandy-approved condiment.)
Hey- It might be time for a Pepper Mandala from Kathy Klein, So Pretty!
While reading even more about color the other day I came across this list of color names and thought it quite funny. There were lots of other charts and names too, so go to Doghouse Diaries if you need more charting and graphing... Hey- It might be time for a Pepper Mandala from Kathy Klein, So Pretty!

The point of this, and there is one though slight, is to tell you about my old classes where I would hold up a hunk o' fabric in a sort of odd color and ask for the color name to be written down. I would then go around the room and have them read their color names to the class and they were never duplicated, often creative, and very illustrative of how differently we perceive color without that color in front of us.
Describe 'salmon' for instance- what primaries would you use to mix a little pile of 'salmon' colored paint? How does it differ from coral or peach or 'sunset' or or or or Amber Apricot Carrot orange Champagne Coral Brown Burnt orange Portland Orange Dark salmon Terracotta Amber Gamboge orange Mahogany Orange Orange-red Orange peel Peach Peach-orange Peach-yellow Persimmon Pink-orange Pumpkin Rust Safety orange Salmon Tangerine Tenné (Tawny) Tomato Vermilion... and on and on. Actually, The color of salmon flesh varies from almost white to deep pink, depending on their levels of the carotenoid astaxanthin due to how rich a diet of krill and shrimp the fish feeds on; salmon raised on fish farms are (sometimes) given artificial coloring in their food. I don't think that spray bottle will work with the Sirachara (can't spell it!). It's too thick, isn't it? Perhaps tomorrow I will buy one of those industrial sprayers at Home Depot to try it!
How do you feel about Tobasco? I love it more than Sirachara (again with the spelling). But both are yummy on pineapple. Or honeydew.
You know, Mandi, I thought that too but decided if I tried it I might thin the sauce down a boot with some vinegar. One year for Christmas my husband gave me a Tobasco Set- all their flavors- we've been working our way through it for a couple of years now. i like the pineapple and melon ideas since I put cayenne on both at times but for some reason never thought of tobasco! Maybe I need a tasting party!
