dirty doctorate enos

"If a man will begin with certainties, he shall end in doubts, but if he is content to begin with doubts, he shall end in certainties."  Francis Bacon

Yesterday on Jupiter beach-  I've never seen it so full!!  So, this morning was again gorgeous here, cool and dry for the first time in months. We took the paper out and sat in the lounge chairs and watched the plants grow!  The dogs were running around after their pet squirrel who lives in the Bird-of-Paradise tree, but came to a skidding stop when they noticed one of the many toads here swimming the breast stoke across my pool.  Yup, it was a Bufo-  they have a toxin in their bumps that will kill a dog in a very short time so we avoid them like the plague.  TY took pity on him and fished him out with the pool net and took him outside the courtyard to free him.  The dogs continued to run around looking for him.  ugh
Believe me, you don't want to kiss this guy no matter what he promises.  They're huge!
Hardware store owner David Goldberg amassed quite a collection of discontinued doorknobs and various door accessories over the years. Instead of discarding them or melting them down, the inventive entrepreneur decided to repurpose them into a large mural replicating Vincent van Gogh's Starry Night. Located outside of his store Union Hardware in Bethesda, Maryland, the large-scale public wall installation attracts an endless amount of traffic as people stop and stare to take in the creative re-imagining .  Street Aht.

Dont freak out, these are painted on her subjects, but oh my, how good are they!  Equipped with some acrylic paints and raw talent, Chooo-san has once again proven she is a master manipulator. There's even a hint of humor in the new works. On a lean torso of a man, she depicts a series of neatly fastened buttons and the same set of buttons appear to be popped open, unable to close shut, on the belly of a heavier set fellow.
And since we're talking anatomy here,

California-based artist Gary Farlow of Farlow's Scientific Glassblowing, Inc. combines art and science through the production of his anatomically correct glass sculptures. From the vascular system to brain and lung models, Farlow and his team of ten construct borosilicate glass structures representing the inner workings of the human body.
Which brings me to glass blowing, naturally, Dale Chihuly's hanging gardens that we haven't visited in awhile.

Winding down here, I promise
Dog Costume of the day

Human Artist's Kid Costumes (they would rather be an undead Power Ranger)

SQUIRRELS!  COOKIE CUTTERS!!!  GINGERBREAD!!!
bIte off their little tails...

And oh yeah, I worked all day and finished another book, only have left one to put together in class on Wednesday.  Hope I have big enough papers to do it without piecing it all in a mess.  I'll take pictures next trip to the studio.   Tonight I have to find a place to hide from the debate-  I just can't take it any more.  I'm about to vote for that New Mexico Libertarian guy just becuzzzzzzz..... I can't take the sniping and nitpicking.  Or the thirty phone calls a day!  Or not being able to hold rational discussions with my friends-  either side!  I'm just sad over it all.
