What a genius, that Picasso. It's a pity he can't paint. Marc Chagall
Sorry about this extended whine~ the story to date: Trip back to Boston to help my daughter out before, during, and after her shoulder surgery by watching the feral kiddos, ages 3 and 5. All goes well, she recovers really quickly though it is going to take a long time before she can use that shoulder or arm and still needs help with basic life-stuff. So, we saw them Thursday night knowing we wouldn't be able to drive to Ipswich in the coming storm and said our goodbyes, comfortable that she is feeling well enough to manage, though it will be difficult with rambunctious kids.
I check JetBlue website to get seats picked for Sunday flight and it's listed as cancelled- can't be true, they JUST called and put us on that plane! Pretty soon they call back and yup, it too was cancelled. She hunts around and we can go out NEXT WEDNESDAY, nothing before. There is one seat on a light to DC with a long layover and then connection to Orlando. Not an option, no way to get from Orlando to Jupiter. So we book the WEDNESDAY flight. We both get on the phone and call our friends to explain. They are now trying to rearrange their flights though we told them the house is there and to just go and enjoy until we show up. Who knows, they may LIKE the roommate situation.
So, Monday morning there will be flurry of more calls as I try to postpone doctor appointments, doggie grooming appointments, bocce games, and other things that will come up I'm sure. I can't even go back to help my daughter because there's no place to park up there with all the snow! Marooned for a few days, at least until our driveway is plowed out- we aren't much used to being forced to interact... and food is getting low! Maybe I can walk the mile through the drifts to Whole Foods and grab a chicken in my leaky wet boots. It will be a frozen chicken by the time I get it back- oh hey, I'll get ICE CREAM!

And a bit more with somebody who is NO good at what they do:Are you as tired as I am of looking at people's nails lately?
Looks to me like someone is killing crows, sure hope they really have just 'dark places'. Never thought of this as being the ideal jacket material, maybe if you're bald and shirtless it feels 'warm' relatively.
