"If you believe it you will see it." Froma Walsh
Today we toured to the Het Loo palace and wandered around the stunning gardens and amazing stables and grounds, then, after seeing every nook and cranny of the place, headed for the parking lot. We were confronted by two large black windowed town cars delivering Princess Margaret to her private back entrance. So, I was I hand-shaking distance of a royal. Yea, me, and you already know how I feel about royal anything. It was heartening to see that this so called 'hunting lodge is still used for functions but in became the property of the state so the Dutch have to keep it up through taxes. Someone said, just as I was getting red in the face, to compare it to subsidizing the National Park system. Oh. OK, then!
The odd thing is that I was applying lipstick all day as it was chewed off, a new one I brought for my travel pants pocket. At some point I actually looked at it and the color was called Het Loo. Yup, that's why I am such a synchronicity freak! WHO in hell would name a lipstick color Het Loo? (Nars, in case you want to know!)
So we are adrift again heading for Antwerp. In the morning we can walk around town, and we also have a side trip planned to Brussels where I hope the culinary delights they promise don't include any sprouts. We are promised waffles, chocolate and beer and I'll throw a tantrum without it.
Speaking of the National Parks, wolves are being removed from the endangered list. Duck.
Lovely, no???
Paul McCarthy, (Please don't read this as Paul McCartney) who will soon be taking over Manhattan with a number of shows and special projects during Frieze New York, recently lost one of his inflatable sculptures in Hong Kong, the South China Morning Post reports.
Weather has been blamed for the deflation of the 50-foot pile of excrement, which was titled Complex Shit (though the SCMP politely refers to it as Complex Pile). Pretty, eh?
I had planned to post semi-regularly on the iPad but even with advance work and lots of unpublished headers and footers, Blogger only lets me add a paragraph on the iPad. So today I am borrowing a real computer where it is taking forever to load, but I can make things as long as I want. But that ain't workable either. So tomorrow I am going to try to write-as-I-go, then cut and paste to Blogger. If ANY of you have a better plan, please let me know. Remember my iPad is an 'vintage' model- I was greedy and had to get it first. Bad idea. I am seeing tourists walking around with the mini-iPad and taking all their pictures and checking their email so I think that is the travel way to go. I can load my old iPad up with kids games and give it to the grandkids to keep them quiet on the plane or in the car. They won't realize they have been 'had' with a used toy for a year or two, and by then I'll be wanting the latest/greatest/newest whatever is out there. OK, I'm spoiled, I WANT to blog every day or so, I WANT to post pictures and silly stuff. I WANT to save an email about a show or whatever needs to be referred back to. But for now, I am gonna smear some more Het Loo lipstick on and go get a martini while waiting for dinner.

I use the Blogsy app for use with my iPad. That might work for you too. I couldn't blog on the iPad without it.
